Intendo che se spendi 1.000.000 € per fare un film ed il film ne incassa e.c. 5.000.000 sui quali dovresti pagare in ipotesi estremamente semplificata 1.500.000 di euro di tasse, da quel 1.500.000 detrarrai le spese di produzione, pagando solo 500.000.
Se il film magari incassa solo 2.000.000 su questi dovrò (sempre e.c.) pagare 500.000 eu d'imposta, ma ne hai spesi 1.000.000 che detrarrai totalmente, quindi ne pagherai 500.000 -1.000.000 andando magari in credito d'imposta e Dio sa che ci farai con quel credito d'imposta.

Sul fatto che il film sia girato in Italia, non so dirti alcunché non conoscendo che casa di produzione l'abbia girato (se la Boll KG od altri) ne' così nel dettaglio la normativa fiscale tedesca.
E nemmeno tanto bene quella italiana.

In the DVD commentary of Alone in the Dark, Boll explains how he funds his films: "Maybe you know it but it's not so easy to finance movies in total. And the reason I am able to do these kind of movies is I have a tax shelter fund in Germany, and if you invest in a movie in Germany you get basically fifty percent back from the government."
Boll has received a lot of negative publicity regarding this funding method.
